Founded in 1980 as Charter One, Spirit Airlines (NK) is a US low-cost carrier that is headquartered in Florida. As a budget airline, passengers must pay extra for things such as onboard food and beverages, pre-reserved seats, and both carry on and checked luggage. Spirit operates from bases at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Fort Lauderdale – Hollywood Airport (FLL).
