Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is one of the two international airports that serve Shanghai, China. Located in the western part of the city, the airport is a major hub for domestic and international air travel. It is also a strategic hub for passenger and cargo transportation in East Asia.
The airport opened in 1920 and was initially used as an air force base by the Chinese military during World War II.
