Prague Airport, known officially as Václav Havel Airport Prague (formerly Prague Ruzyně International Airport), is the biggest and busiest airport in the Czech Republic. Located just 10 kilometers from the city center of Prague and accessible by public transport services, it serves both international and domestic flights. The airport is owned and managed by the Government of the Czech Republic.

Prague Airport consists of two terminals: Terminal 1, which handles primarily international flights, and Terminal 2, which primarily serves domestic flights. In 2019, it handled more than 20 million passengers. It has 120 check-in desks, 45 boarding gates, and 24 jetways for boarding aircraft at both terminals. It also features a wide range of amenities such as free Wi-Fi access throughout the terminals, numerous retail stores and restaurants offering local specialties, art exhibitions from different periods in history, prayer rooms for travellers of all faiths, conference facilities to accommodate business needs, a currency exchange office with competitive rates and even two movie theatres for entertainment!

In 2020 Prague Airport plans to open Terminal 3 which will be larger than both Terminals 1 & 2 combined! This new terminal will feature more shops & cafes as well as expanded departure lounges to provide a great travel experience for passengers. Furthermore it will have an increased capacity allowing up to 30 million passengers every year with 92 check-in desks available. A new multi-storey car park with 2200 spaces will also be constructed next to Terminal 3 making parking that much easier!

The airport is one of the most important economic drivers in Central Europe and has a number of strategic advantages over other airports nearby; its central location makes it easily accessible from across the continent while its extensive network of airlines offers excellent connections between major cities in Europe as well as worldwide destinations like Shanghai or Riyadh. Its cargo operations are equally impressive; according to 2018 data it handled over 130 thousand tons of cargo annually making it one of the leading airports for air cargo traffic in Europe.

What airlines operate passenger services out of Prague Airport?

The following airlines all fly passenger services out of Prague Airport:

Prague Airport Reviews

★★★★☆
A good airport, easily reachable from the downtown by busses (32 CZK, i.e. slightly more than 1 Euro) or taxi (about 400 CZK from the city centre). It is a pity there are a few restaurants there and the prices are just crazy. It often takes very long until baggage is uncharged.
- TP

★★★★★
Best airport in Eastern Europe, very convenient and comfortable. Excellent connection from the city center, lots of shops and restaurants, very friendly staff!
- zimm

★★★★★
Inthe terrible weather everything was ok and efficient. This time I really apreciate the services at PRG. Everything worked wel and fast, incl. de-icing.
- Kamil

★★☆☆☆
Even if airline knew (and informed passengers) the flight will be delayed three hours, the original time was written on the airport screens all the time without any other information. The boarding was messy, nobody took care about priority/non-priority, not talking about childs. Then we had to wait loaded in super cold windy bus with open doors while the driver went into the terminal to warm himself and chat (no paperwork!) with gate staff. Then the bus stopped next to the plane and after some time of waiting, only first doors were open, so everybody had to use them. I can understand whatever, but if there is delay or an yother specific situation, staff should ensure everybody (or majority) of passengers (customers) feel comfortable and not make things even worse. So usually, I rate with 4-5 stars, but today, it was nothing else than faux-pas, just a fail.
- TMR

★★★★☆
Nice and clean airport with reasonable number of food stores and other attractions (plane spotting terrace, aviation documentary movie for free, etc). The connection to city center is pretty good as well (the only issue of public transportation is that a lot of info is only in Czech). Prague was the first international airport I've visited and I like to return here every time.
- Borivoj Hlava

★★★☆☆
Getting to the airport sucks - no direct train, so you have to switch from metro to crowded bus. The check-in took almost 1 hour and 30 minutes, so arrive early if flying with Czech airlines, especially during lunch time. The good shops are before the security, then it is crazily overpriced - beer is 3-4x more expensive than in nice restaurants in the city center. Extremely high prices for ordinary services. I prefer Vienna airport way more.
- Ladislav Adamek

★★★★☆
long queue at check-in and no separate stand for luggage dropoff. the security check is right before the gate, so you need separate drinks for the time in the terminal and for the flight. btw i wanted to try kofola but struggled to find it :( i did see it in one place but then looked for it in vain. to be fair i had an independent connection and had no problems with getting the luggage and checking it in for my next flight, with 2 hours between the flights.
- Marina Jevdokimova

★★★★★
Very good Airport. Clean toilets. Very nice ERSTE Premier Lounge. Fast check in, fast security control.
- Paolo Frcek

★★★★★
Prague is generally a delight to travel through and makes quite an effort long-term to improve and innovate. If you check in online, it's not uncommon to get from your bus/taxi to the airside in under five minutes, including security. The airport now guarantees bottled water for €1 and has vastly improved dining options for all budgets, but it can be still tricky to get something to eat in the concourses, outside the central area.
- Juraj Kováč

★★★★★
Prague is my home airport and I think it's really good, one of the best ones in Europe. Fast check-in, great (not perfect) Wi-Fi and good Erste Lounge (again - not perfect). I hope I will fly again from or to Prague :-)
