Boekarest Airport, ook bekend als Boekarest Henri Coandă International Airport, is de belangrijkste internationale luchthaven die de stad Boekarest en het omliggende gebied bedient. Gelegen in Otopeni, Ilfov County, is het de drukste luchthaven van Roemenië in termen van passagiersverkeer, met meer dan 12 miljoen passagiers per jaar. Het werd geopend in 1920 en diende aanvankelijk als militaire luchtmachtbasis voordat het een internationale luchthaven werd.
De luchthaven werd tussen 2007 en 2012 gemoderniseerd met een nieuwe terminal, verlengde start- en landingsbanen en uitgebreide parkeerplaatsen. Het biedt nu een mix van binnenlandse en internationale vluchten, uitgevoerd door luchtvaartmaatschappijen als Lufthansa, KLM, Air France en Turkish Airlines. Boekarest Airport fungeert niet alleen als hub voor passagiersvervoer naar bestemmingen over de hele wereld, maar bedient ook tal van vrachtvervoerders. De faciliteiten omvatten twee passagiersterminals die door een ondergrondse passage met elkaar verbonden zijn en drie start- en landingsbanen met geavanceerde navigatiehulpmiddelen.
Daarnaast is er een breed scala aan voorzieningen ter plaatse, waaronder restaurants, belastingvrije winkels, geldautomaten en wisselkantoren. Daarnaast is Boekarest Airport ook de thuisbasis van verschillende vervoersbedrijven die huurauto’s, taxi’s, pendelbussen, limousines, bussen, fietsen, motorfietsen en zelfs paardenkoetsen aanbieden. Dit alles maakt het een van de belangrijkste luchtvaartknooppunten van Oost-Europa voor zowel binnenlandse als internationale reizigers.
