AGP is one of Spain’s oldest airports in the same location, and it opened in the early 1900s. The runway was upgraded in the 1960s, and a new terminal was added. Seasonal travel prompted the opening of a second terminal to handle that traffic, and another terminal was added in 1995. The second runway opened in 20112, and the first flight to use it was a four-seater private flight. Over 40 airlines travel in and out of this airport. Terminal 3 can handle 30 million annual passengers.

Parking is on a seven-floor parking garage that offers 2,500 spots for long- and short-term parking. Ground transportation includes taxis, buses and rental cars.

Málaga Airport Reviews

★★★☆☆
Malaga is too spread out and busy. Shops are poor, security is too open and always makes me feel vulnerable. Wifi non existent! Drinks are really really expensive.

★★★★☆
Very close to the city center. Check in and security is fast. But the B gates are very far away from security. You have to walk a lot. There are cafes, restaurants, souvenir shops. Nice airport bot it's complicated. Also some baggage claim belts are very far away.

★★★★★
I fly to Malaga quite regularly and I'm impressed with this airport. There is plenty of check in desks so this is never a problem although even if there is a long queue, they won't open more so it can be about 15 mins to check in. Security is always quick however not too efficient. There is tables where you can sort your belongings before putting them in trays which isn't at every airport! I have never had a log queue in the security here! Once through security, you have to walk through duty free but follow the wall on the left and that will lead you out! Once through to the gates, it does look clean and new. There is a selection of different shops and restaurants such as Burger King, Starbucks , Victoria's Secret etcetc. There is 3 terminals, A, B and C usually British flights are either B or C once you go through B & C, you have to show your passports and you can't return. Gates are sometimes displayed very early meaning people are standing for considerable amounts of time. Announcements are not made over the PA system also so you must check the screens (which there are many dotted around). Overall, a nice clean airport which is a pleasure to travel through !

★★★★☆
The terminal building was brand new, when I was there, and the WiFi, and facilities were OK. The biggest problem is the design. You have to walk 15 minutes to your point of interest, and there are no signs.

We arrived at Malaga AGP after made go-around on the aircraft. No problem on baggage claim and have WiFi.

★★★★☆
Three generations of airport built next to each other. Easy to get to by all forms of transport and, for the most part, both impressive and spacious. The gates leave a little to be desired seating- and space-wise.

★★★★★
Nice airport to travel through, quickly offloaded then through border control with a littleness queue

★★★★☆
I have flown to and from this airport many times. In the popular summer season it gets very busy. On my last departure last September it took over half an hour to clear security and they needed to open the other security lanes they had done the previous year. Once you clear security you end up in a tax free sales shop you need to walk through this to get to the lounge. Please note there are announcements made about departures however there many departure boards. This a large airport where one needs to walk long distances. There is good selection of shops its cheaper to buy a drink from the vending machines than the shops.

★★★★☆
Flight departed from terminal 3, very modern facilities, easy WiFi access, good variety of cafés (even given it was 6 AM). Only problem was the security check, not very well organised.

★★★★★
Cleared security in around ten minutes as it was quiet due it being a winter departure. Staff need to learn to speak more just Spanish to avoid any misunderstandings. Ended up in the duty free shop once I had cleared security . I would recommend looking at departure screens as no announcements are made regarding regarding the gates your flight is using . Well sign posted to the direction of the gates and a good selection of shops, food outlets & vending machines. Make sure you go to the correct entrance to your gate as you can't exit them if you go through the incorrect one. Some passengers may find the B & C gates that flights to the UK tend to depart a long walk. I am looking forward to visiting again.
