Luxembourg-Findel Airport Reviews

★★★★★
Super aéroport à la pointe de la technologie.
- Thomas

★★★☆☆
Very small but effective airport. When I arrived in the evening I needed only five minutes to get from the plane to my car. But be careful when you get there by car! Traffic on the surrounding motorways can be very busy during rush-hours! The connection to public transport is below average (only bus connections to Luxembourg main station).

★★★★★
Luxairport has a huge underground car park with 4080 parking spots based on 4 different levels. Luxair Tours (tour operator for holiday flights) occupies 2 levels for their customers because they can park free of charge. The airport has also an Economy parking (M-yellow) 2.5 Km away from the terminal and cost 35 only Euro/week. In addition, the Economy parking M has every 10 min. a free shuttle bus to and from the terminal. The shuttle bus operating hours are from 4h00AM until 24h00. The parking system is easy because each parking is not only identified by ABC, but also by colours to indicate in addition the price zone. Taxi stands and bus stops are located outside just in front of the A terminal. Car rental return is also in the underground car park and rental car offices are located on level -1, next to Arrivals. The inside of terminal A is modern and clean. The facilities are easily visible and the terminal layout offers short walking distances, to increase the passengers comfort. The airport infrastructure is equipped with large elevators for people with limited mobility. At the entrance, is a souvenir shop, book store, bakery, several travel agencies, ATM and restrooms. On the upper level are 2 restaurants, (A la Carte & Self Service), phones and more restrooms. The Check-in works in general pretty fast and there are 2 individual security check units on both ends of the check-in desks. After passing the security check, you find immediately the central located business lounge before taking the staircase down to the gates. Near the gates are more boutiques & shops, ATM, sandwich bar and a smoking cabin. Things I don´t like: 1) The bars & restaurants inside the airport all belong to the same company, so there is no diversity and competition. 2) The terminal is a huge open building, but has no decoration like plants or flowers from the inside. 3) The French speaking employees don’t respect Luxembourgish speakers in their own country. In addition, many French speaking staffs have also difficulties to speak English in shops and bars. Facts & Numbers: (Summer 2014) Number of Terminals:2 (Terminal B is still closed) Runways: 24/06 (4000 meters) Max. Capacity: 3.6-4.0 Mio passengers (both terminals together) Expected capacity in 2014: 2.5 Mio passengers Current N° of Airlines: 22 Current N° of Countries served: 24 CurrentN° of Airports served: 84 Current N° of flights/week: >850 Distances to/from airport: Central Station 10 km Thionville 40 km Trier 44 km Metz 70 km Saarbrücken 89 km For more information visit: www.luxairport.lu www.ana.public.lu

★★★★☆
Small but cozy airport. Not so much people due to relaxed timetable. But probably a few more seats after the security control could be a good idea: when flights are delayed even slightly the lack of place may become quite noticeable. Wi-Fi is operating well.

★★★★★
Luxembourg airport is one of the bests airports I've travelled from. It's small, modern, very well staffed. There are almost no queues for security and it's quite spotter firendly. Overall a pretty nice experience. I would totally recommend it even though the list of destinations isn't so important.

★★★★★
Great small airport. Very clean, efficient and a great range of flights. Good connections by bus to City Center and Kirchberg and to several cities in the Great Region. Multilingual and pleasant staff. Usually very quick baggage claim. What could be better is to open the smaller terminal for smaller aircraft that makes all the passengers take a bus ride. Lounge could be bigger since many times there is not enough seats and no much option for food and shopping, anyway we are in a small airport.

★★★☆☆
Findel used to be a really good airport, but since 'improvements', the great restaurant has disappeared, and the airport is but a shadow of its former self.

★★★★★
Well served by bus from Luxembourg Central Railway Station, although a railway line to the airport is due to be opened soon, which will make things way easier. The airport itself, my first gripe was no self-service check in for airlines other than Luxair, KLM or Air France. The only restaurant land side is fairly pricey, but offers a fantastic view of the runway and part of the apron, so is kinda worth it, its probably better to eat and drink here, rather than airside, as the prices are simply astronomical. Other factors, security was the fastest I've ever experienced, and plenty of seating areas, with great views of all movements on the ramp, and of the runway. The only "problem" was the passport check to Non-Schengen, wasn't manned until 45mins before our flight was due to leave, infact the plane was on the gate before the checkpoint was manned. Other than that, the boarding was swift and efficient, and wouldn't detract me from using LUX again.

★★★★★
Very nice airport. Just the right size to have a decent number of connections, while remaining easy to use, with short distances to walk, etc. Very good facilities, including a large underground parking lot with direct access to the terminal. Probably my favorite airport for flying to anywhere - I usually prefer driving to LUX than taking the train to CDG, even if I get on a connecting flight to CDG...
