USA. Los Angeles World Airports and retail developer Westfield have brought classic Americana accessories brand Miansai to the airport channel for the first time.
Miansai has opened at Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Tom Bradley International Terminal, where it is being sold on the back of a vintage 1965 Piaggio truck – one of the brand’s growing mobile retail fleet.
The lines include signature jewellery, watches and leathergoods, all available until the end of the year.
Miansai, launched in 2008 and stocked in 37 countries, has flagship retail locations in New York and California. Its mobile retail units include two vintage Airstream trailers, Fiat and Piaggio trucks which travel coast to coast as part of an ongoing mobile tour.
Founder and Creative Director Michael Saiger: “We’re no stranger to bringing our merchandise right to customers. Through this partnership with Westfield, we’re doing exactly that – bringing Miansai to one of the busiest and best international terminals in the world.”
Westfield Airports Vice President of Leasing Iris Messina said: “There’s no reason why the retail experience at the airport can’t be every bit as exciting as it is on the street. Pop-ups like this are a great way to give travellers a unique experience every time they come to the airport.”
