Katowice Airport (IATA: KTW, ICAO: EPKT), is an airport serving the Katowice area in Poland. KTW is the home of a former German soldier airbase in 1940 and was used for military supply aircraft for the German Reich. Soviet soldiers were stationed at the base from 1945 until 1951 when they passed the base onto Poland’s Air Force. In the 1990s, the first international flight took place, and two more terminals were opened in the 2000s. There are expansion plans to construct a new passenger terminal.
Parking is available in three parts, and there are private lots next to the airport. 1,842 parking spots include EV parking. Ground transportation includes buses, taxis and rental cars.

Lotnisko położone na uboczu aglomeracji, wylot był jeszcze ze starego terminalu, gdzie panował tłok przy boardingu i było niezbyt czysto, w nowym jest zapewne lepiej. Plus za sprawną obsługę, nie oceniam takich rzeczy jak jedzenie czy Wi-Fi, bo przez wypadek na autostradzie praktycznie wbiegłem do samolotu.”

Small and crowdy Airport. Security spersonnel creates much chaos during control. 3 persons controlled at one gate at the same time. I've been separated from my belongings and had to wait AFTER control to collect my bag, because before my bag had been scanned, control of another 2 persons had started (!). When I told to security guy that they create chaos, he told me that "that is what security check is about". I haven't seen that anywhere in the world.”

After changes airport is very expensive, and still problem to get in to airport, few buses, no trains. Prices for duty free are double and sick. Food is expensive in the restaurant, but still taste like cheap. ;) Next time I will fly from Ostrava. Same price, better quality.”

Our flight was delayed for 30 minutes because half of a plane was not at the gate on time because of the security check - probably new security officers, some of them worked only with assistance of other officers.
