GUYANA. Eugene F. Correia International Airport is seeking a concessionaire for the development of a new duty free store, according to an advertisement in the Guyanese newspaper, the Sunday Stabroek.
The announcement said that the airport operator, Ogle Airport Incorporated, is seeking Expressions of Interest (EoIs) from qualified firms either singly or in a joint venture.
The concession includes domestic and international products covering alcoholic beverages, fragrances and tobacco. There is also the possibility that the appointed concessionaire will be licensed to provide other duty free products such as electronics, watches and jewellery.
The respondent will require the approval of the Guyana Revenue Authority, which requires a security bond and guarantees on staff training.
EoIs are to be submitted before 30 November.
Eugene F. Correia International is located on the Atlantic coast in the Demerara-Mahaica region close to the Guyana capital, Georgetown.
Airlines operating out of the airport include Guyanese carriers Trans Guyana Airways and Roraima Airways.
