Friedrichshafen Airport is a public airport located in Friedrichshafen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It is the second largest airport in Southwest Germany after Stuttgart Airport, and one of the largest airports in the country overall. The airport serves both domestic and international flights, with a variety of low-cost carriers offering service throughout Europe. Additionally, the airport plays host to general aviation and business flights.

The terminal building at Friedrichshafen Airport was opened in 2002 and consists of three levels: Arrivals on the ground floor; Departures on the first floor; and a restaurant/other services on the second floor. Inside there are a variety of shops and restaurants, as well as ATMs and currency exchange services available for travelers. The airport also offers amenities such as wireless internet access and an information desk that provides assistance to passengers if needed.

The runways at Friedrichshafen are capable of handling some of the largest aircraft in operation today, including passenger planes such as Airbus A320’s and Boeing 737’s, cargo planes like Antonov An-124s, and military aircraft like Eurofighters or AWACS planes used by NATO forces. The airport also has an air traffic control tower which manages all air traffic within its airspace. In addition to these services there are several private companies that offer flight training courses at the airport as well as aerial photography services using drones or helicopters with special authorization from German Federal Aviation Administration (LBA).

Friedrichshafen Airport is connected to nearby cities via local public transportation options such as buses or taxis that make regular stops outside terminal building during operating hours. There is also a car rental facility at the arrival level where travelers can rent vehicles without any additional charges or fees. Furthermore, there are multiple hotels close to the airport; ranging from small hostels to five star luxury ones depending on one’s budget or preferences.

Overall Friedrichshafen Airport is considered one of Germany’s top airports for both its extensive range of amenities for travelers to enjoy during their layovers but also its connection with many major cities across Europe thanks to its numerous low-cost carriers servicing it regularly every day.
