Eurowings takes off for Namibian capital Windhoek for first time

The Eurowings long-haul offering continues to grow, with one of the airline’s Airbus A330 aircraft taking off for the first time en route to Namibia’s capital Windhoek earlier.

The passengers on the almost fully booked plane departed from Cologne/Bonn’s Konrad-Adenauer airport punctually at 22:55.

They will touch down in the south of the African continent after about ten and a half hours of flight time.

In future, the route will be operated every Wednesday and Sunday, then from the October 9th, the Sunday flight from Cologne to Windhoek will change to Monday.

Like all Eurowings intercontinental flights, the new flight connection will take off from Cologne/Bonn airport.

The airline also has additional connecting flights from many German and European airports in its offering, enabling travellers from other regions to benefit from Eurowings‘ competitive prices.

Smart Connect flights can be booked from Berlin, Hamburg, Zurich, Vienna, London/Stansted and London/Heathrow.

Windhoek is situated 1,650 metres above sea level in a deep circular valley, surrounded by the Eros Mountains, Auas Mountains and the Khomas Highland.

The largest city in Namibia is characterised by a mixture of modern and preserved colonial buildings.

The city centre is easy to explore on foot and the busy main street of Independence Avenue, the Christ Church and the equestrian statue from the early 20th century are all worth seeing.
