Eurowings boosts Majorca services to meet growing demand

Following a strong summer, the travel trend to Majorca remains unbroken, even during the current winter period.

Already the months of January to March are drawing many travellers from Germany towards the Balearic Islands in anticipation of spring-like temperatures.

Additionally, increasing numbers of Germans own a holiday home on the Spanish island and commute frequently.

Eurowings is responding to high demand and short supply with the increased use of wide-body aircraft to Palma de Majorca.

Depending on the booking situation out of North Rhine-Westphalia, Cologne/Bonn and Düsseldorf airports will benefit from the planned special flights.

Europe’s fastest growing airline is the market leader at both airports.

Eurowings will make a total of 12 special flights, using an Airbus A330 with 310 seats, from and to Cologne/Bonn until January 31st.

The Airbus is otherwise used for intercontinental flights.

The special flight days to Majorca are January 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st.

Even more flights will be offered to passengers from Düsseldorf.

Eurowings will introduce special capacities to the market using a particularly large aircraft for a total of 22 flights between Düsseldorf and Palma.

In this case it will be a Boeing 767 which has space for a total of 277 passengers.

There are plans to use the large jet for flights on January 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th.

Eurowings will also use the jet to fly to the sunny island on February 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th and March 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th.
