Dallas Love Field Airport is located in Dallas, Texas and is a public airport. It is owned and operated by the City of Dallas, and is one of two major airports serving the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The airfield was first established as an Army Aviation field in 1917. During World War II, the airport saw extensive use as a training facility for pilots. After the war, it was returned to civilian control and named Love Field in honor of Moss L. Love, who died in an airplane crash while on active duty with the U.S. Army Air Service on September 4th, 1913.

Today, Dallas Love Field Airport has undergone several expansions and improvements since its initial construction. This includes new gates and concourses along with parking garages, ground transportation centers and rental car facilities to accommodate larger passenger volumes than its original capacity could handle. The airport saw a peak in traffic during the 1960s when up to 20 million passengers passed through each year. While this number has decreased over time due to increased competition from nearby DFW International Airport, it still sees more than 5 million passengers annually today with more than 430 daily departures serving 50 different destinations across North America and Mexico as well as nonstop service to six cities outside of these regions such as London-Heathrow (BA), Anchorage (AS), Nassau (B6) and Cancun (F9).

Dallas Love Field also offers additional services including an Aircraft Rescue Firefighting unit along with federal security screenings provided by Transportation Security Administration personnel. Alongside its aviation operations there are also many commercial businesses located within the grounds including restaurants, shops and even a hotel for travelers who need overnight accommodations nearby. The airport also provides access to many ground transportation options such as rental cars, taxis or shuttles that can take travelers from the terminal building to their destination within minutes of landing at Dallas Love Field Airport making it easy for everyone to get where they need to go quickly without having to worry about long distance travel or hassle of renting a car elsewhere in town.
