Delta Air Lines (IATA: DL, ICAO: DAL) is a passenger airline from USA.

Delta Air Lines offers 325 destinations on 877 aircraft. Its callsign is DELTA. They have nine hubs in the United States and 83,000 employees. They operate 5,400 plus daily flights to 52 countries. It founded SkyTeam Airline Alliance with three other airlines, including Air France.

DL is one of the oldest operational airlines in the world. In 1925, the Huff Daland Dusters, Inc. started Delta as a crop dusting service with the main goal of fighting the boll weevil that was decimating cotton crops in the southern United States. It was bought up by investors and incorporated as Delta Air Service in 1928 and named for the Mississippi Delta area. It started passenger flights to Dallas, Texas from Jackson, Mississippi, and other stops in Louisiana where it was headquartered. The passenger service was stopped in 1930 when the airline lost its airmail contract.

The airline was split up and the crop dusting portions went to local investors who secured another airmail contract in 1934. It moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1941 where they remain today.
