Ballantine’s introduces Asia Travel Retail Exclusive 21yo Oak Collection

Pernod Ricard Travel Retail has launched new Ballantine’s 21yo Signature Oak Collection exclusively in Asia travel retail.

The line comprises the Signature Editions Ballantine’s 21yo European Oak and Ballantine’s 21yo American Oak. It is exclusive to Asia travel retail until November 2018.

European Oak gives the whisky top notes of raisin, balanced with a spicy and aromatic fruitcake flavour. American Oak elevates the whisky with top notes of vanilla, a toffee flavour and a honey finish.

The collection is housed in packaging that marries together the original colouring and design of each Signature Oak Edition. 21 rings illustrative of an oak tree span across the two halves of the box to underline the age and quality of the whisky.

Ballantine’s Prestige Marketing Director Mathieu Deslandes commented: “Building on the success of the Signature Oak Editions, this collection is a special collector’s set ideal for whisky connoisseurs looking to explore and indulge in the complete story of oak influence on the Ballantine’s 21yo.”

Ballantine’s Master Blender Sandy Hyslop said: “Each of the casks are personally nosed by me to ensure a balance between liquid and cask, something George Ballantine – a pioneer in the art of maturing whisky in quality casks – would have approved of. I have stayed true to his unique methods, his craftsmanship and the extraordinary level of dedication he demanded to maintain the smooth, delicately balanced style of the whisky he gave his name to.”
