Aer Lingus hires hundreds of cabin crew as summer season begins

Summer 2017 is set to be the busiest on record for Aer Lingus with new routes and frequency increases across the network.

This demand has led to the recruitment of up to 200 new cabin crew to welcome guests on-board as the summer schedule begins.

The investment in 200 new cabin crew, who will fly initially on the short haul network, marks another milestone for the airline, which over the last 12 months has launched new services to Los Angeles, Hartford and Newark with Miami to follow in September.

The new recruits will operating flights to and from the UK which have increased for the summer season due to high demand.

Aer Lingus added a morning flight to its DublinLondon Heathrow service departing from Dublin EI156 DUB at 08:40 and arriving into LHR 10:15 which provides even more convenient schedule options for customers.

Capacity on the London-Cork route also grew by an additional six services per week for summer.

In addition to Aer Lingus’ mainline services from UK to Ireland, Aer Lingus Regional operates an additional 20 routes between UK and Ireland and just recently launched a new Newquay-Cork service.

Aer Lingus and Aer Lingus Regional operate up to 517 flights per week from the UK to Ireland.

Having completed an intensive training programme at Aer Lingus’ in-house Training Academy, located in Dublin Airport, the newly qualified cabin crew covered a wide range of topics from theoretical and practical components and health and safety procedures, through to grooming and guest experience.

Upon receiving their ‘wings’ the new recruits will operate flights across Aer Lingus’ European network of more than 100 routes.

Aer Lingus added 100,000 additional seats to European destinations increasing capacity on key holiday routes such as London, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, to name but a few and extended its winter route from Dublin to Fuerteventura into the 2017 summer schedule.

For those wishing to travel further afield, this summer will see Aer Lingus operate its largest ever transatlantic schedule flying to 11 North American destinations, with a total of 2.5 million transatlantic seats on offer, including the new direct service to Miami via Dublin.

The airline’s existing transatlantic routes include Boston, Chicago, New York, Orlando, San Francisco, Washington and Toronto from Dublin and Boston and New York from Shannon, as well as new routes to Los Angeles, Newark and Hartford, which commenced last year.
