Canada’s First Air has introduced the first ATR42-300 Class C dedicated freighter into service.
The carrier had used the aircraft, registered C-FIQU, as a Quick Change (QC) variant since 2001. It was withdrawn from service last summer while the conversion to a dedicated freighter was completed in-house at Ottawa International Airport (YOW).
The Canadian regional airline also operates six other ATR42s, four Boeing 737-400s and two leased ARJ-85s on a mixture of scheduled and charter services to some of the country’s remotest areas.
